Werner Scheithauer, Medical University of Vienna. For patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who have failed prior oxaliplatin therapy, cetuximab plus irinotecan could be the best treatment. David Cunningham, Royal Marsden Hospital, London. The oral agent capeticabine is just as effective as fluorouracil for treating patients whose metastatic colorectal cancer has relapsed. This is the finding of a study in which either agent was combined with oxaliplatin. David Cunningham told Peter Goodwin about his group's findings reported at the ECCO conference.
