Dr Michael Douek - Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, London

Issues and techniques relating to lymph nodes

Dr Michael Douek explains the importance of lymph nodes, his approach to patients who are sentinel node positive and his approach to local regional recurrence and metastatic disease. He goes on to discuss sentinel node biopsy and other alternative techniques.

Dr Douek also discusses the devise he has developed to detect sentinel nodes without using radiation. This novel technique works using a hand-held magnetometer to detect picotesla changes in the magnetic field.
